Eliseo Gomez is a 46 year-old Mexican immigrant heading North to the US in order to provide for his wife and daughter. At the border his journey takes an unexpected turn and he is forced to cross the relentless desert on his own. With little food and water he becomes drained, detached, and unable to go on, when out of nowhere he stumbles upon a young, American boy also lost and suffering.
