he everybody,

Here goes nothing I guess; I just finished my first reel as a "self-student" for motion design. And I'm ready for some critique!
I made this reel so I can start searching for an inte [more]

Yori youre work so far rocks... Im also self taught in 3d cgi, (im predominantly a max user because i got results fast and you know how iportant that is at times... I like especially your vibrantly oscillating particle systems... which impressed me most... im having real struggle at the minute with inverse kinematics... my video post shows nothing close to your ability, im trying to learn in all the spare time i have... If theres one thing to critique, i'd have to agree on one of the above comments that you re-use the cylindrical name element you began with... nice tho... here are a couple of my early shorts...

thought your work was great, though somehow the presentation comes off a little monotone in color. I also think that you should vary matters by making your last id sequence different from the opening one. Great going!

Hey man looking good. I like the use of light and the fun you are having with the MoGraph module within C4D. However I must admit, it looks very GSG to me. A lot of you pieces look like have the same tone, color and feel to them as Nick's tutorials. Now I know everyone has to start somewhere but people on this forum along with MoGraph.net will be able to smell that a mile away. So let all that knowledge that Nick is teaching you sink in and then do something completely different with it.
Keep up the passion but make it your own. Good luck!

It was good till the last when the foul language popped in for a brief second. It would be offensive to many potential customers. Otherwise it was very well done. Just my 2 cents. Rick

Wow, self taught. You must have a lot of time on your hands. Great imagery. At the end, you might want the last graphic of your name to unwrap so we can have a last full look. After all, isn't that what you're selling, yourself?
Great job.

How long did it take you to create this? Where did you get the footage? What tutorials have you been watching? Did you make it using After Effects right out of the box or did you have plug ins, if so which ones? That was a great demo! I loved it.

Very nice. Although the 'credits' of Demo Reel seem as long as the work. Not that it's not good motion design just in the credits, but still...
Regardless, looks great. Keep it up.
