This simulation was done while exploring the new features of Apple Motion 4
Its basically an emitter with the following behaviors:
Gravity and Edge Collision
On the collision behavior i played with the bounce strength until the bounce was looking believable.
the particles have a spin and spin randomness in order to look as if they role on the surface after landing.
There is one frontal spotlight in the scene.
the floor and back wall are 2 gray rectangles with reflections turned on.
the camera has the sweep behavior and the motion blur option is turned on in the render drop down menu.
