I guess "dark comedy" means you think it's funny but you don't laugh out loud. I think the expression is typically used as a euphemism to mean that the piece in question is meaningful and not some nutty comedy working at a joke a minute. Self described dark comedies are often just plain not funny, and this looks to be one of those. Good production values don't help and neither does the dark music score. It's hard to imagine a film like this being meaningful for me in such a way as I'd reflect on my own life during or after.
