Marcy Playground: Senses

In 1997 my company Two Headed Monster was hired by Tommy Steele of Capitol Records to produce this short commercial for the debut release by the band Marcy Playground. Given the band's evocative lyrics, Tommy suggested a piece that played on the idea of senses. From that bit of inspiration I decided to approach this as a collage. It was a scrapbook of John Wozniak's lyrics combined with some simple props, photographs and film. It was shot on an animation stand. There was very little compositing or digital trickery in this piece. I wanted to keep it textural and evocative like the music; I wanted it to feel real. [less]
