Some of the 8bit pixel animation style work I've directed, mostly from the Bell Canada campaign I directed at Global Mechanic. See more of my work at riotsquad.tv.
The pixel art is put together with the Photoshop single pixel pencil tool and all the motion was added in After Effects. For this 8bit stuff you have to work with AE on a primitive level, stripping out all of its smoothing and interpolation or the hard edge pixel effect is lost.

I directed all of this work and designed and animated some of it, but it was created with the help of some very creative people. A lot of key design for the Bell Campaign was done by Toke Nygaard of Cuban Council. Additional animation and design was done by a number of talented people at Global Mechanic Studios including: Bruce Alcock, Chez Battista, Ian Vincent Godfrey, Scott Kiborn, Paul Boyd, Steve Hillman and Celest Brown.
