Requiem displays the common misconceptions the public has regarding sharks. This film portrays what beautiful creatures sharks are, why they are so important to our earth’s ecosystem – and that they should be respected, not feared.
Requiem follows the experiences of a photographer from Hawaii and her encounters with large sharks in the Bahamas, Mexico and Tahiti. Alongside general public interviews, Requiem includes insights from professional u/w photographer, Marty Snyderman as well as the cultural significance of the shark to the Hawaiian people from local Hawaiian, Bryant Kaonohiokala MockChew.
