Hey Roger! Everything you see is %100 real. No compositing or funny business :) The camera movement is done from moving the camera on a dolly with servo motors. The Cow compression did this video no justice.

It's better here.

Hello Dustin,

When you upload videos here you have the option to upload a non-recompressed version which bypasses any compression of your file. (That one becomes the "original" file.)

You can also "replace" this one with a better copy, overwriting the one here now -- which allows you to keep your votes and your comments, etc.

To replace it just look in the upper-right of the screen when you are logged in and looking at this video, there's a link there to over-write or replace the video.

We'll then show the original to those with great pipe bandwidth, but will have smaller versions for the people who couldn't handle the larger file.

Best regards,

I loved it. I like the technology but don't think adding a moving camera does anything to help the impact. Nice work!

Hey Dustin,

I didn't know you did time lapse photography.
I really like your stuff. Please tell me how you did some of those composite shots. Were some of the sky backgrounds jpegs? And did the camera truck to the right or left or was that done in After Effects?

This is really awesome work. The only dislike I would say is that i don't have the scenery at my back door of my home..

Wow, amazing! How long did it take you to film and edit everything?

Just let me suggest you a better compression for web video.
Your pictures deserve it.

Gorgeous work. The motion control make the beauty even more surreal and dynamic. Would love to see you set one of these sequences up. Fascinating. The amount of resolution you're able to capture with the 5D2 makes me think this should be shown on a digital IMAX screen somewhere to gain full appreciation.

The music is by The Half Open Sky Gives Us Hope. No bracketing for the night shots. Just long exposures. I did some bracketing for some of the day shots though (HDR).

Very impressive! You really take your timelapses to the next level by the camera movement and adding lights. You must use bracketed exposures, right?
